SNK Legends are making their way to the Tag Team arena !

Scorpion Masqué, the multi-award-winning Montreal-based publisher (Zombie Kidz, Turing Machine, Dead Cells…) and creator of the benchmark for two-player games, Sky Team — winner of the 2024 Spiel des Jahres — is proud to announce the upcoming arrival of six new Fighters into the world of its two-player combat game, Tag Team.

These characters come directly from iconic video game publisher SNK Corporation, a pioneer in the world of arcade fighting games. The Japanese publisher is lending fighters from three of its cult franchises to Tag Team: THE KING OF FIGHTERS, SAMURAI SHODOWN, and FATAL FURY.



Tag Team: SNK Arcade Legends was designed by Christian Kudahl (Agent Avenue, Mindbug, Final Titan), based on an original concept by Gricha German and Corentin Lebrat, under an official license from SNK Corporation. As a reminder, Tag Team is a two-player fighting game inspired by the iconic arcade fighting games of the 1990s. The collaboration with SNK is therefore a perfect fit for the game’s DNA.

Tag Team: SNK Arcade Legends will feature six Fighters, including Terry Bogard from the FATAL FURY series.

The other five characters, from THE KING OF FIGHTERS, SAMURAI SHODOWN, and FATAL FURY, will be revealed one at a time, once per month. 

The game will be available in 2027 for $19.99 USD / $22.99 CAD / 17 EUROS. In the meantime, pre-orders are open at the Scorpion Masqué store exclusively and will offer early buyers 1 additional Fighter: Iori Yagami — from THE KING OF FIGHTERS, including his Fighter board, 10-card deck and 1 Draft Card. 

This exclusive pre-order offer is available only through the Scorpion Masqué store until the game's release. If any stock remains after launch, the pre-order bonus may also be available at conventions with any purchase. However, availability is not guaranteed.

The Fighters in Tag Team: SNK Arcade Legends are original creations designed by Christian Kudahl, inspired by the iconic fighters from SNK franchises. Their powers and play styles were developed to faithfully reflect the essence and personalities of the heroes from THE KING OF FIGHTERS, SAMURAI SHODOWN, and FATAL FURY. 
 

Christian Kudahl adds: “I grew up with fighting games, so getting the chance to bring these iconic characters into Tag Team has been a dream come true. Terry Bogard is one of the most recognizable fighting game characters of all time. We’ve given him a large arsenal of strong options, making him a well-rounded character that can be tailored to fit the player’s personal style. I can’t wait for players to experience Terry for themselves, and to discover the rest of the cast.
The character designs, meanwhile, were crafted to reflect the SNK franchise aesthetics while blending seamlessly into the Tag Team universe, with each character boasting a strong identity and explosive energy.

The illustrator, Naïade, shares: "I'm an '80s kid. I grew up playing video games like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, and SoulCalibur. Getting the chance to reinterpret characters from SNK games was an absolute blast!"

Available in the second quarter of 2027, the six new Fighters in this third Tag Team box are characters owned by SNK Corporation. The game was developed by Christian Kudahl, based on an original concept by Gricha German and Corentin Lebrat, and published by Scorpion Masqué. Tag Team: SNK Legends is illustrated by Naïade. It will be priced at $19.99 USD / $22.99 CAD / 17 EUROS and is designed exclusively for two players, ages 10 and up. The Tag Team: SNK Legends Fighters will be compatible with all existing and future Tag Team Fighters.
