Dead Cells: The Rogue-Lite Board Game hits stores November 8

After an exceptional Kickstarter campaign, Scorpion Masqué (the Quebec publisher that won the Spiel de Jahres 2024 with its cooperative game Sky Team) is proud to announce the long-awaited release date of Dead Cells, the board game adaptation of the Rogue-Lite video game. Get ready for an epic adventure on November 8

In this novel take on the Dead Cells formula, up to four players can each play as one of the four unique Beheaded, each with their own set of skills and strengths, and leap into a co-operative rogue-lite experience.

The Dead Cells board game invites players to rediscover the video game’s iconic biomes, monsters, and weapons like never before, with completely reimagined visuals, created specifically for this adaptation. With hundreds of weapons, mutations, and skills to unlock, Dead Cells: The Rogue-Lite Board Game is just as rich and generous as the video game. And just like in the best rogue-lites, each run takes you further as every death makes you stronger.
Explore. Kill. Die. Mutate. Repeat.

Manuel Sanchez, Head of Studio at Scorpion Masqué, shares: "After months of finalizing the biggest game in the history of Scorpion Masqué (and tracking the position of each of the containers carrying the games every day :D), we're thrilled to have kicked off the operations to deliver to backers. Following these deliveries, the game will also be available in its retail version from November 8. That's a lot of people who will have the opportunity to discover our vision of what a Rogue-Lite board game should be... It's a bit scary ;). Now that we've come this far, we hope with all our hearts that players will be as pleased with the result as we are."

The Motion Twin team adds: "We're super excited to finally be able to play Dead Cells in its (real) physical version. Scorpion Masqué did an amazing job adapting the game! We can't wait to get our boxes!"

The Dead Cells board game is a dungeon-crawler that offers a cooperative rogue-lite experience inspired by the Medroidvania genre, playable with 1-4 players, and with a gameplay of around 45 minutes.
Dead Cells: The Rogue-Lite Board Game is a game by Antoine Bauza, Corentin Lebrat, Ludovic Maublanc, Théo Rivière, and published by Scorpion Masqué. It is illustrated by Naïade, Laure de Châteaubourg, Robin Lagofun, and Paul Vérité. It will be available in in the UK, USA, Canada, and Australia starting November 8 at a price of 85 Euros / $84.99 USD / $114.99 CAD.
The French version will be available simultaneously in France, Belgium, Switzerland and Québec.  A Spanish-language version is also planned for 2025. Other versions are expected to follow!
